Fanuc Absolute Encoder and Incremental Encoder

When using a FANUC system with an absolute encoder, failing to replace the battery in time after receiving a low voltage warning will cause the reference position to be lost, requiring a reset of the reference position.

1: How to distinguish between an absolute position encoder and a relative position encoder (incremental position encoder)?
 1. Check the encoder model to see whether it contains the letter “I” or “A”:
     - “I” stands for “Increase,” indicating an incremental encoder.
     - “A” stands for “Absolute,” indicating an absolute encoder.
 2. All βi series motors use absolute encoders.
 3. An absolute position encoder can replace an incremental position encoder.
